The Spice Merchant, Malmesbury, Wiltshire
Malmesbury is a little Wiltshire village best known as being England’s oldest borough and home to the oldest hotel in England, The Old Bell which is situated in a picturesque location next to the ancient Abbey and will also feature in a Fear On Food review here during the summer.
After a couple of very long days in London we returned to the area tired and in need of a good meal!
On hand was The Spice Merchant, situated in what was once the site of a public house, the restaurant has ample free parking and is surprisingly big inside (although we recommend that you book as it is very popular).
Offering a very wide range of dishes, the Spice Merchant only uses natural ingredients, never adding artificial additives and they also pride themselves on using less oil than many Indian restaurants which comes through in the flavour of everything we had.
Overall The Spice Merchant is a well located, easy to find restaurant just off the main link road and has parking for around 50 cars.
For cleanliness, friendliness, quality of food and ease of location we give it four forks in this review and highly recommend a visit.
