Stephen Fear joins stellar line up of Judges for The Good Web Guide Website of the year Awards
We have another stellar line up of judges, industry experts, who are lending their support to this year’s GWG Website of the Year Awards. The judging panel will assess entries on the quality of design, usability, content and product or service evident within each site put forward.
Anna Bance is the co-founder of online luxury rental company, Girl Meets Dress.com, an e-commerce business that allows customers to rent the latest designer dresses and accessories for a fraction of the retail price. Described by Vogue as The Answer to your Prayers, Anna has been busy pioneering the way forward for rental as a new and exciting ecommerce category of its own. Girl Meets Dress.com raised a round of financing from Global Founders Capital, the $200M fund from Rocket Internet’s Samwer brothers and former Delivery Hero co-CEO.
Dr Stephen Fear is an English entrepreneur, businessman, philanthropist and author with over 40 years international business experience. Today Fear has an established property empire and interests in a number of industries, including green technology, hotels, residential care and manufacturing. Often referred to as ‘The Phonebox Millionaire’, Fear is also notable for being an Ambassador and Entrepreneur in Residence at the British Library; a position formerly held by the late Dame Anita Roddick. In July 2013, Fear was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from the University of the West of England for his continued service to Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurship.
Ben Hopkins is a business growth consultant, co-founder of Naked Wines and Non-Executive Director of Ecotricity’s Green Britain Centre. Having delivered over 750,000 new customers to the online wine industry, Ben set up benhopkins.co, the business growth consultancy he runs from his Norfolk home and London. He now spends his time working on partnership, customer acquisition and media planning projects with a number of leading brands including Hotel Chocolat, Charles Tyrwhitt, Gousto, Abel & Cole and Laithwaites.
Lawrence Jones is founder and CEO ofUKFast, a cloud technology business with numerous awards for culture, customer service, innovation and leadership. In sixteen years he has lead its phenomenal growth from a startup in a spare bedroom to a £250 million enterprise. In 2015, Lawrence was awarded an MBE from The Queen for his contribution to the digital industry. Miisa is a highly accomplished branding professional with a history of successful design consultancy. She’s also a co-owner of a Scandinavian style coffee shop chain in London, Nordic Bakery; an author, women’s empowerment enthusiast and a blogger.
Alicia Navarro is CEO and co-founder of Skimlinks, a content monetisation company helping online publishers earn money and gain insights from their commerce-related content. Founded in 2007, Skimlinks has grown to over 85 employees across offices in London, San Francisco and New York City, and has raised $24M in venture capital funding. Last year, $625M of ecommerce sales was driven by the Skimlinks platform, earning incremental revenues for publishers suchas Gawker Media, Hearst, Time Inc, Vox Media, The Independent, Future, and tens of thousands more.
John Regan is a serial entrepreneur who specialises in business services. He has founded three companies and built them from one person operations into thriving businesses turning over millions of pounds. Since 2008, John has invested in several Fintech and Alternative Finance businesses, and he is now a director of Platform Black, which provides an alternative source of finance to SMEs by allowing them to auction their unpaid invoices. Justine Roberts is founder and CEO ofMumsnet and Gransnet. Mumsnet is an online community of parents sharing advice, support and friendship. Mumsnet regularly campaigns on issues that its members care about, such as miscarriage care, sexualisation of girls and libel reform.
