Philanthropy Debate – Thurs 12th May 2016

As part of Quartet Community Foundations annual philanthropy service, they are hosting the first ever Philanthropy Debate this year on Thursday 12 May, 6-9pm, building on the successful Lecture series of previous years.The Foundations friends and donors are invited to join us for a lively debate, followed by a delicious supper, all kindly hosted at the iconic Chemistry Building at the University of Bristol.For the first ever debate, we have distinguished speakers debating the motion:

“This house believes that it is more difficult to give money away intelligently than to earn it in the first place.” – Andrew Carnegie

Bevis Watts, UK Managing Director of Triodos Bank

Dr Stephen Fear, ‘The Phonebox Millionaire’, and Chairman and Founder of Fear Group

Andrew Garrad, Member of the Supervisory Board, DNV GL Energy
