New Jobs Being Created in Newport, South Wales
Newport in South Wales continues to expand and grow with the latest announcement from the Welsh Government that a further £1.5 million funding package has been approved to support the regeneration of the city centre.
The city council will receive the money in order to carry out demolition work for the start of the long awaited Friar’s Walk shopping centre development to take place.
Preliminary works have already begun elsewhere in the city in order to start on this major regeneration programme which will deliver a landmark 390,000 sq ft leisure and retail space including TopShop, Debenhams and Cineworld amongst the anchors already confirmed.
1,000 new jobs are expected to be created and a further 300 construction jobs whilst the scheme is being developed.
