Mrs Muffin’s Teashop, Ledbury, Herefordshire
Whilst out looking at some land for our new Ethical Homes brand this weekend, we stopped at a favourite cafe in the lovely market town of Ledbury in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.
If you haven’t been, Mrs Muffin’s Teashop is a lovely little cafe with fantastic courtyard patio (that unfortunately was full due to the brilliant weather!) set up a cobbled pedestrianised street, just off the high street on Church Lane.
Always greeted by extremely friendly staff and a very clean and comfy environment, Mrs Muffin’s provides a very wide range of home made cakes and a surprisingly extensive menu including all day breakfasts (in both little and large form), oven-baked jacket potatoes, soup ‘n’ sandwiches and their famous range of club sandwiches.
Attention to detail is what sets apart this fantastic little cafe. For example, tea is served in a china cup and saucer, with a proper tea-pot using Tea-Pigs tea, HP sauce and Heinz tomato ketchup are always available and the toilets are always spotless (you’ll notice the Hairy Bikers (www.hairybikers.com) photo if you visit when they stopped by a couple of years ago and gave it the thumbs up).
The icing on the cake, if you’ll excuse the pun, is the lovely AA Four Star rated holiday apartment situated above the teashop, ideally located for a few days in the town or a week long stay to explore the area.
In 2011 the cafe won Tearoom of the Year in Herefordshire, try it yourself and it’s easy to see why.
What we ate and drank on 27th May 2013:
English Breakfast (light breakfast)
Jacket potato with Tuna and mayonnaise
English Breakfast Tea
Total: £13.80 (note the cafe currently only accepts cash which is its only downfall).
