Leon Fear, entrepreneur and property investor and developer, shares some favourite websites.

Leon Fear started his first small business whilst at school, buying and selling mountain bikes and bicycle components and selling them via mail order and direct to the trade. Joining the family business at 19, Leon started in construction, working on-site tiling, fitting kitchens, painting and decorating and laying flooring before moving in to a short period in estate agency, property management and later in to property development.

Now 32, Leon oversees Fear Group’s property interests and looks for new strategic land opportunities in the UK in both the residential and commercial sectors.

Leon has been featured in the Daily Express and Financial Times as well as various regional press and is a regular contributor with articles and comments about business and entrepreneurship to various national press including the Daily Telegraph, Property News, Business Leader and Business Today magazine and was Ambassador for The Business Show 2015 which was held at ExCel London.

Fear Group was founded in 1969 as an industrial chemical manufacturer and distributor and has evolved into a multifaceted international business, focusing on corporate and property acquisitions and investments with interests in many sectors including green technology, affordable housing, manufacturing, hotels, property investment, student accommodation and the care industry

i-Magazine – Insightful, knowledgable and inspirational. i-Magazine is a great coffee table glossy magazine, as well as it’s excellent website which provides interviews with leading politicians and business leaders from all over the world, and features reviews of high-end products from Bentleys to watches and hotels. It’s an exciting mix presented in a quality format and never fails to give inspiration.

Property Week: – I’ve subscribed to Property Week for some time because it provides daily updates via the website, as well as the weekly magazine on iPad, with all the latest news and deals in the UK property world. The standard of journalism is very high and it is always full of insightful information with an easy to use website.

The Economist – I’ve been a reader of The Economist for a while and enjoy the level of detail the journalists go in to. It’s a crucial read for anyone in business in my opinion and rarely a day goes by without me reading something from it.

Dropbox – As an organisation, Fear Group were very early adopters of Dropbox because of the ease of use and ability to store so much information in a cost affective way. Being able to access documents when I’m traveling is particularly useful, as well as being able to send large files without emails bouncing! I wouldn’t be without it now and think it’s the best file sharing system out there at the moment.

Forbes – I’ve always liked Forbes for it’s insightful interviews and inspirational articles. I think it’s important to remain inspired and read about other people’s successes as there is so much doom and gloom in the world so it’s good to remember what can be achieved if you really believe and apply yourself. I find that many of Forbes’ articles demonstrate that on a regular basis.

Bloomberg Business – A real favourite of mine because it offers up to date information and in depth market analysis. Bloomberg’s articles are always very to the point as well as the website being easy to navigate.

Favourite App… Genius Scan – Without doubt my favorite app! This is an absolutely brilliant app which I’ve used since it first appeared. It allows me to scan any document or photograph wherever I am in the world using my iPhone or iPad and immediately save it, send it via email, tweet it or print it without any fuss. It enhances the scanned document once you’ve taken what is essentially a photo and the results are as good as a fixed scanner or possibly even better from my experience. It’s also extremely easy to use.
